Heathrow’s next consultation to launch 8 January 2019

Posted on in Press

We are pleased to announce that Heathrow will be holding two consultations in 2019.

The first on Airspace Change and Future Operations and the second on our preferred masterplan for Heathrow expansion, including the physical infrastructure changes and how we will manage the effects of our growth at the airport.

We can confirm that the first of these consultations – our Airspace and Future Operations Consultation – will take place between the 8th January – 4th March 2019.

Throughout this consultation we will be seeking feedback on:

o Airspace design for our current two-runway airport: We will be seeking feedback on the design envelopes for new arrival routes for our two-runway airport, with the introduction of Independent Parallel Approaches.
o Airspace design for an expanded Heathrow: Following Stage 1 consultation on design principles earlier this year, we will also be seeking feedback on the design envelopes for three runways at Heathrow.
o How we will operate a three runway airport: Operating three runways will be different to operating two runways, and we will be seeking feedback on a number of elements such as directional preference, night flights, and runway alternation.

For further information you can take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions page on January’s Airspace and Future Operations consultation and our dedicated Consultation Hub site. Later this month we will announcing the full list of dates and venues for our consultation exhibition events so keep checking our website for this announcement.

Consultation is a crucial part of how we reach best final plan for our expanded airport and future airspace, and we look forward to hearing your views.
